Electrical Engineering – The Gateway to the High Tech Industry

The Faculty of Electrical & Computer Engineering is involved in a wide range of fields, encompassing high-tech, mainly electronics, computers, signal processing and communications. Faculty graduates receive theoretical and practical training in all subjects related to electrical engineering – from the physical structure of the basic electronic devices, through the required algorithms and their implementation in hardware and software, to an overview of the whole system – Whether these are communication systems, control, computers, or software.

Modern electrical engineering encompasses hardware and software systems based on electronic, optical, biological and other devices, and touches applications in all areas of life, such as medicine, art and education, as well as commercial and military applications. The fields of electrical engineering and computers are changing and developing rapidly. In order to enable the ability to integrate and keep up with the expected changes, the faculty provides a broad and thorough scientific background, and maintains a high level of students and academic standards. Through these high standards, the graduates can deal with current engineering problems but also to respond to future challenges. As a result, faculty graduates hold leading positions in the Israeli high-tech industry.

The  Faculty Uniqueness

  • The faculty offers students challenging curricula, fascinating subjects of study, and a wide range of high-tech oriented specialties.
  • The students in the faculty are exposed to various fields of academic studies in the first stages, allowing them to decide in an informed manner about the area of specialization they will choose.
  • The faculty’s studies are supported by a wide array of advanced laboratories and engineering infrastructure, enabling practical experience through experiments and projects at the forefront of technology.
  • The faculty members are among the leading researchers in their fields.
  • The Faculty is a major source for engineers and entrepreneurs in high technology such as: Communication, technologies, computer and software engineering, learning systems, nanotechnology, computer vision and more. 15,000 graduates are the leaders and founders of Israel’s high-tech industry, accounting for 70% of the company’s CEOs, and have led to technological breakthroughs and major economic successes that have greatly affected the country’s economic strength.
  • The research and teaching environment in the Faculty is dynamic and adaptive to new technologies.
  • The faculty consistently recruits young faculty members who are from the world leaders in their fields.

Employment – Be Courted by High-Tech Companies Starting from the Second Year

Electrical engineering is among the most sought after professions in the market. The reputation of faculty graduates as top-level engineers ensures extensive employment opportunities at all stages of the career. Faculty students are constantly courted by startups and other companies from the high-tech and advanced industries in Israel from the second year of studies, and are integrated to these companies upon academic completion at the highest salary levels in the market. The graduates of the faculty are recognized and sought after by leading companies around the world, and the doors of the leading universities are open for advanced studies . The broad theoretical foundation and self-learning ability that distinguish the graduates of the faculty from students graduated from other institutions gives them the ability to progress professionally and personally at all stages of their careers, and ensures our graduates remain leaders and wanted throughout a long and promising career.

The admissions process takes place at the Technion’s registration and acceptance center and not at the faculty. You can find answers to most of the questions and contact information on the registration and acceptance center website.
