Prof. Ayellet Tal from the faculty has been awarded the Dr. Robert Shillman Prize, presented for outstanding research contributing to the support of Israel’s defense and security.

The prize, awarded this year for the second time, recognizes research projects that have already matured into practical applications or are in advanced stages of implementation.

Professor Tal’s research focuses on the development of advanced technologies for the detection and identification of objects using data collected from a variety of sensors. Her work addresses challenges posed by complex environmental conditions such as varied terrain, changing weather, and different lighting conditions, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and reliability.

The project she has led in recent years demonstrates significant potential for advanced applications in the fields of information processing and automatic recognition, and serves as an example of the integration of scientific excellence with practical relevance.

Congratulations to Professor Tal on this achievement.
