ECE Women Community

Congratulations to Prof. Shahar Kvatinsky on receiving a grant from the European Research Council

The ERC’s mission is to encourage the highest quality research in Europe through competitive funding and to support investigator-driven frontier research across all fields, based on scientific excellence.

The ERC competitions are also open to leading researchers from outside the EU. Excellence is the only criterion for selection; There are no thematic priorities nor geographical quotas for funding. The goal is to recognize the best ideas and give status and visibility to research.

The grant will be used to build computers with much faster data processing capabilities. Thanks to an innovative computer architecture, the computing will take place in the computer’s memory rather than in the actual data processor. These innovative computers will be significantly faster than existing computers and will facilitate the management and analysis of intricate data sets in diverse sectors, such as finance, healthcare and social media platforms.
