Congratulations to Prof Israel Cohen

the Louis and Samuel Seiden Chair in electrical and computer engineering at the Technion, for receiving the Honorary Doctorate award from Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (deemed university) in India.

Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (KITS) was established in 1986 and has the highest accreditation A++ from NAAC in India.  With more than 8000 students, 452 faculty, and 18 academic departments, KITS’s vision is to address the problems of humanity through technical education, research, and development.

Prof. Israel Cohen is an IEEE Fellow “for contributions to the theory and application of speech enhancement”, and a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Signal Processing Society. He is a world-renowned researcher and leader in speech enhancement and array signal processing. His innovative work on statistical speech modeling and the development of algorithms for enhancing speech in hands-free telecommunication devices, mobile phones, and hearing aids have significantly impacted the professional community and industry. Prof. Cohen co-authored seven books and more than 300 papers in journals and conference proceedings.
