The awards, founded in 1992 by the late Technion friend Mr. Hershel Rich, are granted annually for inventions, discoveries, developments, computer software, or publications originating from the Technion that hold potential for application and economic impact. In addition to the personal award, a grant is also given to the academic unit to which the recipient belongs.
Prof. Rottenstreich was recognized for his work on risk reduction in decentralized blockchain-based financial systems, focusing on addressing the phenomenon of Impermanent Loss.
